On February 16, 2024, SAJIDA Foundation's WASH programme, in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh, organised a dynamic one-day event as a testament to our unyielding commitment to the "Empower Girls Through Education and Skills" project. At the heart of this initiative is a youth-led campaign aiming to illuminate the shadows cast by child marriages, gender-based violence, and other societal challenges. Our mission is to cultivate a safe and nurturing environment, inspiring change one awareness at a time.

Esteemed guests graced the occasion, including Dr. Awlad Hossain MP, representing Dhaka-04; Mr. Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain Sarker, DSCC Zonal Executive Officer, Zone-5; Ms. Shahana Akhter, DCCC Councillor of Ward-47 from Dhaka South City Corporation. High officials from SAJIDA Foundation and Plan International Bangladesh also joined hands, further amplifying the impact of our collective mission.

The occasion started off with a rally by the community members, accompanied by prominent officials and delegates from both the government and SAJIDA Foundation. During the campaign, adolescents and children were immersed in a tapestry of activities – from engaging games and vibrant art competitions to thought-provoking discussion forums and cultural sessions. It was a celebration of diversity and empowerment that resonated through the IG Gate community. The project is being implemented across five low-income areas of Dhaka South City Corporation: Shyampur, Wari, Bangshal, Dholpur, Khilagon, and encompasses seven nearby schools. The ripple of change is spreading, and together, we're weaving a brighter future for these communities.
