SAJIDA Foundation was awarded by SNV Netherlands Development Organization in recognition of the Organization’s exemplary performance implementing the project “Working with Women Phase II” in 2019. The program was awarded for successful achievement of target, reporting, communication, along with the materials, and its creativity. Team members received the award on 21 January at the quarterly project meeting and discussed future plans for the year.
The “Working with Women Phase II” project works with women in the Readymade Garments (RMG) industry to ensure their mental health and wellbeing and address issues of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), by a variety of initiatives that include raising awareness, encouraging dialogue, creating mental health support systems and promoting wellbeing. Funded by SNV Netherlands Development Organization in Bangladesh, the project targets approximately 3,500 women workers in four garment factories located in Narayanganj and Tangail.
