"My daughter's education was disrupted by the pandemic. The SUDIN programme provided assistance to us in the form of tuition fees, school supplies, and mentoring support, allowing my daughter to resume her education." - Bobita Rani Das, SUDIN Community Member

Bobita Rani Das, a 35-year-old mother and slum resident living in Aftabnagar, Dhaka. Once upon a time, not too long ago, Bobita faced the daily struggle of making ends meet with the meagre income her husband brought home.

The SUDIN programme, initiated by SAJIDA Foundation, stepped in to transform her family's circumstances. Bobita received a van— a resource she entrusted to her husband— enabling him to generate a more substantial income for the family.

Amid the challenges posed by the COVID lockdown, her four-member family received lunch every day for a continuous period of 75 days. Expressing her gratitude, she stated, "SAJIDA came to our aid during the toughest times. During COVID lockdown, without the support they provided, we would have starved." She added, "My daughter's education was disrupted by the pandemic. The SUDIN programme provided assistance to us in the form of tuition fees, school supplies, and mentoring support, allowing my daughter to resume her education."

In addition to this, community apas educates Bobita about physical health, raises awareness about mental health, and offers tutoring support to her children. The regular visits from community apas helps her find solace.

Bobita also received a health card from the SUDIN programme, granting her access to certain healthcare services from designated hospitals for any health-related issues at no cost. Reflecting on her journey, she says, "My family and I have come a long way with support from SAJIDA Foundation. We will be forever grateful."
